Anti-Racism & Diversity Consultation via the JUUST CHANGE CONSULTANCY of the UUA Is your Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregation working towards increased anti-racist, anti-oppressive multicultural transformation and social action? The JUUST Change Anti-Oppression Consultancy, a new UUA initiative, can help! JUUST Change consultants (four of whom are ARDC members*) can assist your congregation in: • identifying leaders • building a team • setting goals and planning programs • developing mission and vision statements, and • building partnerships in the larger community Susan Gore, one of the consultancy's coordinators, likened the JUUST Change name to the Nike ad, "Just Do It," but with our own unique UU twist -- our commitment to work for justice -- JUUST Change! Gore explained that the Consultancy is not itself a program, but rather a service that meets congregations where they are in their anti-oppression work. By offering resources, people, and support, JUUST Change helps congregations make the most of the programs already offered by the UUA (such as Jubilee World, Beyond Categorical Thinking, and the Social Justice Empowerment Program) to move congregations to a new state of being. JUUST Change is a ministry by lay people and ministers who are committed to working against oppression of all types. * The four ARDC members working as consultants are our Co-Chairs, Carl Heath and Hope Johnson, and our former Co-Chairs, Janice Marie Johnson and Rori Kanter.
