The Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing's
Reviews of Books about Racism and Other Oppressions

This extraordinary collection of some 80 reviews of books primarily about racism, but also sexism, heterosexism and classism is a labor of love by UUCWC Trustee and Journey Toward Wholeness Transformation Team member Paul Tuerff.  The effort began in 1999 as our Transformation Team was founded.  Other UUCWC contributors are:  Les Eversen, Russell McTague, and Mary Kay Mitchell.

        The book reviews are
listed first alphabetically by author
             and
then by topic under the following  categories:

Advocacy,  History,  U.S. Law,  African-American,  Asian,  Latino,
            Native American, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender,  Women

Each review is 1-5 pages long and provides a comprehensive look at the book as well as an evaluation as to whether or not the book would be valuable in a library to support
Journey Toward Wholeness endeavors in our churches.

To request a book review(s) by e-mail without charge,
         please contact Paul Tuerff
at  Ptuerff@comcast.net.

We also plan to expand this collection continuously and welcome readers participation in providing comprehensive book reviews of books/videos that they have found valuable for JTW study by contacting Paul.

NOTE:  Books preceded by an
*asterisk are also available to be borrowed from the ARDC Resource Library.   And if you have a copy of one of the following books that you could possibly  donate to the ARDC Resource Library, please contact Mary Kay Mitchell -- email: bix.mitchell@gmail.com (hm: 609-883-1136).   The library's online listing of your book will make note your generosity!
