POLICY STATEMENT for the Borrowing of Materials from the ARDC Resource Library The ARDC Resource Library supports the mission of the Anti-Racism and Diversity Committee (ARDC), a committee of the Unitarian Universalist District of Metropolitan New York. The mission of ARDC is to nurture, support and empower the District's congregations in their anti-racism and diversity work. The borrowing of the materials from the ARDC Resource Library is restricted to the congregations or to individual members, clergy or staff of the congregations of the Unitarian Universalist District of Metropolitan New York. The lending of videocassettes and other image formats by the ARDC Resource Library is governed by United States Copyright Law. The copying of these materials is strictly prohibited. The standard loan time is for 2 weeks from the date of mailing. There is a flat handling charge (to be paid by the borrowing congregation) that covers the mailing costs: $15 per Video/Audio Tape or Book per standard loan. Note: There is NO RENTAL FEE for borrowing these resources. However, ARDC would very much welcome any goodwill offering that the borrowing congregation might take up. Any such offering would be used to purchase more items for the ARDC Resource Library. A Letter of Agreement will be faxed or mailed to each congregation requesting to borrow resources. This letter must be signed and mailed back with the fee (check payable to: UU District of Metro New York// memo: ARDC) and received before the resource material can be mailed out. Each video, set of tapes or book must have the following on a prominent label: Property of the U.U. District of Metro NY Anti-Racism & Diversity Committee RESOURCE LIBRARY Contact: Mary Kay Mitchell,18 Windybush Way, Titusville, NJ 08560 In the formal list of videos, tapes and books available for loan it will be noted that for certain pre-determined videos the ARDC strongly encourages that the borrowing congregation also arrange for a skilled facilitator. If they do not have access to one, ARDC will be happy to recommend someone. The rationale for using a prepared facilitator, the fee and facilitator guidelines will be included. (The borrowing congregation would pay the fee for facilitation.) (Revised December 2005) |
